Terms of Participation and Refund Policy

These Terms of Participation and Refund Policy ("Terms") govern your participation in the New York International Competition for Performing Arts 2026 (the "Competition") organized by New York International Competition for Performing Arts ("we", "us", or "our") via www.nycompetitions.com.

By submitting an application and paying the entry fee, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility
The Competition is open to performers in specified categories (as detailed on the Site). Participants must comply with all rules outlined on the Site, including age requirements and repertoire guidelines.

2. Application and Entry Fees
Applications must be submitted online via the Site. Entry fees range from $100 to $170 (as specified during registration) and are processed securely via Stripe or PayPal.

3. Refund Policy
All entry fees are non-refundable once paid, regardless of whether the application is accepted, withdrawn, or the participant is unable to attend for any reason (including illness, travel issues, or personal circumstances).

Exceptions: Refunds may be considered only in the unlikely event that the Competition is fully canceled by us (not due to force majeure). In such cases, we will issue refunds minus any processing fees. Payment processing fees (e.g., from Stripe/PayPal) are not refundable.

4. Competition Rules
Participants agree to abide by all competition rules, including schedule, venue requirements (Secret Arts Hall at Secret Theatre), and jury decisions. Prizes (including $10,000 total) are as advertised and non-transferable/no cash alternative. We reserve the right to disqualify any participant for violations of these Terms or competition rules.

5. Intellectual Property
By submitting materials (e.g., videos, photos), you grant us a non-exclusive license to use them for promotional purposes related to the Competition.

6. Liability
We are not liable for any loss, injury, or damage arising from participation. The Competition is subject to force majeure events (e.g., pandemics, natural disasters) that may lead to changes or cancellation without refund liability.

7. Changes and Cancellation
We reserve the right to modify the Competition schedule, rules, or cancel the event. Participants will be notified, but no refunds will be issued except as noted in the Refund Policy.

8. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA.
